Installation and License Activation
How to go from purchasing Form Plant Pro to having the features available on your site.
Form Plant Pro is an add-on for the free Form Plant plugin. Form Plant 1.5.2 or higher must be installed and active. If it is not, start with Installation.
1. Receive your license key and download the ZIP
- Choose a plan and purchase it on the Form Plant Pro store
- You receive an email with the subject "【Form Plant Pro】ご購入ありがとうございます — ライセンスキーのご案内" (Thank you for your purchase — your license key). It contains your license key. Keep it at hand for the next steps
- On your first purchase, the same email also contains a link to set the password for your store account (valid for 7 days). Open it and set a password. If the link has expired, use "パスワードをお忘れですか" (Forgot your password?) on the login page to request a new one
- Log in to your account page and download the plugin ZIP file with the 最新版をダウンロード (Download latest version) button
There is no purchase step in the beta. The email with the subject "【Form Plant Pro】ライセンスキーのご案内" (Your license key) contains your license key and the password setup link. Continue from step 3 (set your password, then download the ZIP from your account page).
2. Install the plugin
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin
- Select the ZIP you downloaded and click Install Now
- Click Activate when installation completes
To install via FTP, unzip the archive and upload the form-plant-pro folder to wp-content/plugins/, then activate it from the Plugins list.
After activation, the Form Plant admin screens show a notice saying that Form Plant Pro is not activated yet. Register your license key as described below.
3. Activate your license key
- Go to Form Plant → License in your WordPress admin
- Paste the key from the email into the License Key field
- Click Activate License
- You are done when the page shows "License activated."
Once activated, the Pro options become available in the form editor: the Field Group, Repeater and Page Break field types, the Conditions tab on every field, and the Multi-step Form and Reception Control sections of the Settings tab.
Reading the License screen
After activation, the License screen shows the following.

- Refresh Status — contacts the license server and updates what is shown. Use it after changing your plan on the store
- Deactivate License — removes the license from this site
The license status is checked automatically once a day and the result is stored. If the license server cannot be reached, the last known status is used, so a temporary outage never turns off your Pro features.
Moving to another site, or removing the license
When you move a site, or want to use the key on a different site, deactivate the license on the original site first. This frees one activation slot.
If the original site no longer exists and you cannot deactivate it there, you can detach it from your account page on the store.
Deactivating the license turns off all Pro features on that site. Forms closed by Reception Control start accepting submissions again. See About Form Plant Pro for details.
Updating
Form Plant Pro updates appear in the standard Plugins screen in WordPress admin, just like any other plugin, and can be applied from there.
- Updates are only delivered to sites with an active license
- Availability is checked every 12 hours. To check immediately, use Refresh Status on the License screen
If you are running the beta (1.0.0-beta.1), the final release appears on the same Plugins screen as a regular update. With an active license, applying that update is all it takes to move to the final version. Your form settings are kept.
When your license expires
Pro features keep working after expiry. Only these two things stop:
- Plugin updates
- Support
To keep receiving updates and support, renew your license from your account page on the store. After renewing, use Refresh Status on the License screen and the status returns to "Active".
Troubleshooting
| Message | Cause and what to do |

| This license has reached its site activation limit. | You have activated as many sites as your plan allows. Deactivate the license on a site you no longer use, or detach it from your account page on the store |
| This license has expired. | Renew the license, then use Refresh Status. Pro features keep working while expired |
| This license has been disabled. | The license has been stopped, for example after a refund. Please contact support |
| Could not connect to the license server. | A temporary network error, or your site cannot make outbound connections. Wait a moment and try again |
| Form Plant Pro requires the Form Plant plugin. | The free Form Plant plugin is inactive or older than 1.5.2. Update and activate the free plugin |
If the Pro options do not appear on your forms, check the following in order.
- The free Form Plant plugin is active and is 1.5.2 or higher
- Status on the License screen is "Active" or "Expired"
- This site shows "Activated"
